You do not have to be a member of the
ARRL to be a member. You do not have to spend money. You don’t have to spend
every other weekend training for a disaster. You ONLY have to dedicate as much
spare time as you want to public service. In our training meetings, we
learn more about our hobby, emergency operations and things we can do to be
better prepared ourselves and our stations should the need arise. Winnebago
County ARES has a good working relationship with the Winnebago County Emergency
Services Disaster Agency. They provide us with communication support by actively
maintaining and upgrading dedicated radios and computers in the County Emergency
Operations Center. They also helps us facilitate training, education, special
events, meeting areas.

desire to participate in ARES®. Please take a moment to download this
application and get it to John. According to ARRL, we should all be sending in a
new application at the beginning of each year, updating the information
for the EC.
